On Friday 29th November, Trimdon Foundry Parish Council carried out the annual Switching On of the Christmas Tree lights. Following the special Winter Wonderland event held at Deaf Hill School, the children, accompanied by Father Christmas and members of staff, paraded along to Malvern Crescent where the Christmas Tree waited in darkness. Everyone joined in the countdown and then the lights were switched on by County Councillor Lucy Hovvels. Each young child was given a small gift by Santa
Deaf Hill School Choir and the Trimdon Band who dashed from work to be part of our special night provided Christmas music, and further entertainment was supplied by Kevin Mangles.
